PC100
Standard Revision
06-20-1998 GateStar Computer Standard Revision Update
All existing GateStar computers were based on motherboards with a
66MHz Bus speed, which existing 233 to 333MHz Processors still
use today, but because of the new release of Intel's 350 and
400MHz Pentium II Processors that use a 100MHz Bus Speed GateStar
has changed our computer System design Standards to include all
Pentium II systems with a speed selectable motherboard that will
allow the continued use of Systems based on the 66Mhz Standard
(Also called PC66) and upgrade those systems later to a 350 or
400MHz processor based on 100MHz Bus speed (also called PC100)
this will insure that our customers are receiving the best
possible system money can buy.
This also reduces the overall cost of ownership of a GateStar
Computer System because the standard will not increase the cost
of a 233 to 333MHz Pentium II system and will save the Customer
$500.00 or more when they decide to upgrade their systems to a
100Mhz based Processor like the Intel 350 and 400MHz Pentium II
Processor.
